I've got a continental terra speed black sidewall (definitely tubeless ready) on the back, reseated it multiple times, put extra sealant in it (90ml, Stans). I've tried laying it flat, flipping it every hour, which makes it seal for a bit – but as soon as I put it upright, it will be flat the next day. Putting soapy water on the sidewall shows air leaking from there (see picture). Is this a faulty tyre or am I the problem?

I have the exact same tyre/sealant combo on the back and it works great. Just 40 Vs 45mm. I noticed that the continental logo is printed orange on the back but black on the front. No idea if that means something.
It shouldn’t leak even without any sealant. Leaking from the sidewall indicates something is wrong with the tire.
Are you sure its seated in the rim bead properly? Because it looks like it doesnt. When you inflate (preferably with a compressor) you should hear a tingy sound which is notable for a properly seated tyre. Then deflate, put sealant in and put your normal pressure in the tyre
What i do is i put a little dish soap on the outer line of the tyre so that it slips into the bead nicely. Might help for you also! GL!
It’s important that you understand the difference between tubeless ready, and tubeless.Tubeless ready requires an unknown/variable quantity of sealant to seal the tire air tight. Tubeless requires zero sealant to stay airtight.
did you shake the sealant before applying?
How sure are you that they are TLR? I bought some Continental CrossKings and they deflated within 20 mins. Advertised as TLR on the website but they were not TLR by any stretch.
I usually just drive a short distance of about 10 minutes, never have such problems
Just keep it pumped up and use it. It will eventually seal and the agitation will help. Some TLR tyres can leak quite badly in the sidewall when new (it’s usually air following a bit of fabric that wraps from the inside, round the bead to the outside). Vittoria TLR tyres are notorious for it. It will eventually seal though, it just takes a while because it’s so spread out the air flow is very slow though it.
