Above 18 degrees very sensible.
Thanks for the video, nice meeting you.
Nice video. Would love to ride in France ❤️
That was nice👍
40 miles, no cafe stop, ok but going straight home after the ride without having a coffee is not ok. Wouldn’t happen in Australia.
My dad is also 78 and still riding his bike, pretty awesome.
Hi Simon. Enjoying all your videos. How did you get out to Bordeaux with your bike? I took a train journey to the Bordeaux from Edinburgh a number of years ago by train and hen cycled to Florence. Great times. Keep up the good work 🙂
Another nice video Simon, thank you. I love the idea of a club ride which is 'touring' in nature and more suited for the older lads and lasses (whatever language they speak) and a Komoot route book? Maybe the committee does something useful on wet days. As for cycling past cafés, that's a 'Non' from moi! I think there's perhaps more than a grain of truth in the older rider having not punished himself earlier in life. Anecdotally, a few of my friends who are steaming towards 60 with me have all sorts of physical problems and they all have something in common; they were all mad keen on team sports e.g. football, rugby, hockey, etc. and all endured fairly serious knocks and twists as a result. Anyway, now that you're no doubt contemplating only riding above 18 deg and when it's not raining, I look forward to your annual Scottish video!
Love the video Simon, but no surprise from me at the 78 year old with you. There are a few of us over 70 in the club I ride with-St Neots-the age range in the small group yesterday was 79, 77, 73 (me) 56, and 37-40 mile ride with a 16.5 mph average. We also have a member who at 80 probably does the highest weekly mileage of anyone in the club of 160 members…….
Keep on riding and filming and I will keep on watching.
Excellent video. Being a weather wimp I just love the idea of a club ride that doesn’t happen in the rain or when it’s less than 18 degrees.
Inspiring.
Ha, yep there's everyone…Trevor just amazes me and I love that bakery I'll do a shout out and link to this video in my latest for you.
Amazing ❤️

My cycle touring club in Bordeaux rides about 6 hours 100 km using the full day, Always a coffee stop in the morning, picnic or restaurant (winter) stop around midday followed by coffee. After a hot day sometimes a drink together before everyone goes their own way. Everybody but me is French and we all speak French together.
French club ride without any French! what do you know? LOL
