Hey! New to the sub. I got this bike from a friend who wanted to get rid out it. I was putting a chain on and noticed this. Is it broken? Should I get a new one?
Edit: It was in his storage shed from when he cycled for fun a while ago.

The derailleur is bolted upside down and its’ tension spring is either broken or popped out. You can have a shop try to repair it or you can try doing it yourself.

Other than that, the derailleur cable housing is out of it’s seat on the frame, and you need to cut the excess cable after the derailleur bolt.
Im trying really, REALLY hard to stay serious looking at this.
I’ve had my comments deleted because of joking. Lately there seems to be a lot of joke posts.
Difficult to tell if it’s just rotated round or forced past a point it shouldn’t. Also can’t tell if it or the hanger are bent sideways
