It’s below the weight limit on the Jack The Rack, and if I mount it width rather than length ways, it interferes with the bars unless I get the compressing perfect. Yes I know it’s ugly, but is this a bad idea or am I just worrying about nothing?
It’s a Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT.

That will block your light quite a bit at night and if it’s strapped in like this it will likely wiggle out

You maybe able to pack it more efficiently in a proper compression sack.

That is going to wiggle …. wiggle wiggle…

Its bound to work…it doesnt look ungainly at all and will definitely stay perfectly strapped in the whole ride….

Ohh I bought recently a tent where the poles were packed in a separate bag. YOu could eventually do the same: Pack the poles on the middleframe and the rest on the Jacks. That what I plan to do..

If you’re ok with it looking like you’re riding an uncircumcised peen…
Other than that, you’d be better off buying some of those ski straps and sticking it between your legs.

Check out the Light Nug from PDW, could prob add it to your forks

Why though? Salewa Micra 2 would have done more or less the same for 800€ less… I am super duper happy with it. It‘s a little bit smaller, but it workes perfectly in the alps at 3000m and on bike paking tours. Don‘t mean to be passive aggressive, just honestly curious about that desicuom.
Tip: Put the Poles in a frame bag, and fold the tent smaller without the poles.

Ridiculous

that looks like a very bad idea – blocking light and if it comes loose while on the move (which it likely will given how it’s strapped) it will likely go right under your front wheel and cause a wipeout

Get a smaller tent, perhaps?

Looks like it would block your ability to know where your tire is going. Fine for flat gravel but anything technical might be difficult

If it fails, well hey, at least you learned how to do a front flip!

I have a GT2. Better compress it down and put the poles along the frame. That thing hanging off the front will make for a poor ride experience. Excellent tent. Maybe just get a rear rack…
