  1. That’s not a jump. That’s a drop. And before you get bombarded with wear a helmet comments, don’t be an idiot, wear a helmet.

  2. The ramp is so long and shallow that it’s acting more like a drop at that speed. To get it to kick you’d need to go a lot faster. Try shorter and/or higher jumps. Get some wood and make one yourself. Start small and when you get comfortable, ‘ramp’ it up.

    Also, wear a helmet.

    Speed is your friend.

Also wear a helmet bud. You can get a new bike but you only have 1 head

    First a damn helmet.

    Second you need more speed.
On a jump like that you shouldn’t be pulling up like you are. Speed up, settle in and let it fly.

First off get a helmet, a light helmet that breaths well
I recommend the dainese Linea 01 or the Limar Livigno full face bother 570-590gramsnabd great in 90+ weather.

As for jumps, you could use a tad more speed, and perhaps stand up more straight to not land nose heavy.

  6. After you get a helmet.

Hop on YouTube and watch Ben Cathros how to bike series. You’ll learn a ton about how to jump better and tons of other great information I think you could use. Plus he’s entertaining to watch. Do it. Check him out. You won’t regret it.

  7. i know a lot of people have said it but get a helmet it’s not worth the possibility of having a terrible head injury over not wearing one, specialised tactic 4 is a really good one and not too expensive i think i got mine for about £30

I can’t give you advice on your jump, but I can tell you if you whiff it without a helmet we can give you advice on how to eat with a spoon again.

Head injuries are no joke, the only thing that keeps you you after a wreck is a good helmet. Get one with mips and a high rating from the Virginia tech crash lab.

How to wreck last year that broke a couple of spots in my face but the only reason I didn’t have a concussion was my helmet, and probably the only reason I’m still standing. Bern replaced the helmet without question when they saw my story on Instagram.

It’s going to run you like a hundred bucks, the cost of going to the doctor will be in the tens of thousands.

I was riding at a bike park the end of last season and there was a race that day. A spectator was riding down in front of me without a helmet after the race. You could tell he was a really good, really experienced rider by his nice bike, expensive jersey, his riding style even though he was obviously taking it very easy cause he didn’t have a helmet.

Then he lost control out of no where and absolutely fucked himself up and had to be carted off the mountain. And he fucked my day too cause I was the first one there to give aid.

The moral of the story is riding without a helmet is dumb AF even for super experienced riders.

Helmet. I have broken/fractured 6 helmets over the years. I’m an XC rider, not a DH wildman. Those fractures would’ve been my skull, I believe.
