Hi guys! I’m looking to get a decent repair stand to start wrenching on my own mountain bikes. I’ve been a little short on money, is this a good bet for working on modern bikes still? Vintage steel black burn stand for $50.
Thanks!
Looks solid to me dude. I got an old park tool stand for $80 that looks pretty similar and it has paid for itself multiple times over the past 3 months.

It looks like the clamp should rotate so you can clamp the seat post. Should work fine.
Do you have a work bench in a garage or outback. You can get bench top or wall mount clamps also. Online

$50 seems a bit steep for that. I see better options on Amazon (new) for about $60.
Maybe offer $30 with that knowledge.

I’m not a fan of how it does not raise or lower. There will be some bikes that just won’t fit because of that.
