I’d gamble you could run 32’s, easy. Probably 34’s, as well. But, I’d guess 38’s would be too tight and would probably result in some paint damage in muddy conditions. Let us know what you end up running!

I’d be impressed if a 30 fit tbh.

Measure the width of the frame / fork -8mm(4mm from each side)

I don’t think you can go any bigger than that. It’s the space inside the chain stays that’s the limiter. You can try to squeeze a 28 in there but monitor for rubbing after riding it for a while. There’s significant flex in the wheel while riding.

When in doubt, measure. Measure the space between your tire and all limiting frame and fork points to see how much room there is beyond your 25mm tires. Also, measure your tires to see if they actually measure out to 25mm on your rims. That will give you a clear answer. Meanwhile the rest of us can only guess.

for the frame flexing factor i wouldn’t go more than a 28.. 28 is final

28 with some tire brands for sure. 30 could be possible

I’m not confident all 30 mm tires are created equal. Won’t know until you try.

You are there. The brake caliper will take up some space, too.

28mm max is what I’d estimate. My older Salsa La Raza fits 28mm. There is room in the frame for maybe a 30mm, but any out-of-true and it may rub. Brake caliper clearance at the front probably won’t even clear a 30mm. And if you (or I) hit something that causes a casing rupture and large bulge, it may be ugly.
