    Ok, then assuming you’re still in that very position… Loosen up the bottom 1/2 a turn each bolt, then (finger) tighten up the top 1/2 a turn each bolt. Repeat until even. Then final torque to spec.

  2. My ENVE stem instructions said to make 7 turns for each bolt then turn each one turn each in a criss cross pattern.

  3. I do it this way:

    Loosen all the screws so there’s slack all around. Wrap my hand around the bar and stem to hold it together, then hold the face plate in place with my thumb so the gap is even.

    Then gently turn all four screws in so the screw is just barely making contact with the face plate. Do them in this order:

    Then after they have just barely made contact, turn each one a quarter or half a turn then move on to the next. Go around all the screws, in the order shown, until you reach the desired torque. Then it’ll be done.
