Sunday morning we loaded up the bikes at camp, bad sleep was had by most of the group but we made it through the night after having a little party / camp fire with some fellow bike tourist in the trail structure the night before.

We made it up the 1 mile climb to Skyline Blvd. Hung out abs watched some climbers on the rocks then headed down the skyline trail ( bike legal) through some of the best pine loam / hero dirt you could ever hope for.
Then we dropped into the John Nicolas trail.
The JNT is nothing short of breathtaking, 3 miles of downhill winding single track through incredible sandstone / tafoni rack formations ending at a beautiful wooded reservoir I had never seen before.
Then it was a super fast 40mph rip down black mountain rd. to Lexington reservoir and lunch in downtown LosGatos.
After a quick & fast ride down the LosGatos bike path through WillowGlen we were back at the Amtrack station headed home.
Such an incredible 2 days out on the bike, I’d suggest this route to anyone in the Bay Area looking for a hard bit not unfun bike packing weekend.
