I have a couple friends curious about this new bike touring hobby of mine. Was thinking of cooking a friend up with my old Miyata to join me on longer, multi-day rides. Maybe with different bars and tires, who knows.
My main concern is the age of the bike—specifically the wheels. Over time, spokes fatigue and break, so if those wheels are original, you would definitely need to tour with spare spokes (more than a couple, at that) and know how to replace them on the road.
