I planned this trip 2 days before I started it. My original plan was to move to Portugal with a friend but my plans fell through and I already had a flight ticket so I thought I might as well spend time touring instead!
This was my first tour over a week long and first solo. I learnt so much by doing this trip, for example, how overpacked I was! Although I wanted a slow leisurely trip, I still packed way too much for such a short journey (having just shoved a load of things into a cardboard box, along with my bike just 2 days before leaving). I also learnt how to live and operate solo in foreign countries and I learnt a lot about myself being alone! This trip set me up very well for the future trips I did, and the trips still to come! I am still learning now but I have come far from this trip back in 2022.
I focused equally on the wild camping as much as the cycling because I enjoy both as much, for me the most special part of bicycle touring is finding places to spend the night and having a beautiful place to wake up the next morning, hence why such a short distance took me so long… take your time!
