I’m shopping around for a used MTB Bike, and found the following options (link with pictures of the actual condition of each bike):

I know the three bikes are very different, but:
>\- I’m not a pro, I don’t do a lot of MTB actually (maybe once a month)

>\- I’m just looking for a better bike to use for those occasions, that is more efficient and comfortable that what I have now. (I’m looking for full suspension, 1×12 or so, and a seat dropper if possible)

>\- Right know I have a hardtail cheap mtb bike I bought new for around $500 that I’ve been using for 4 years, and although is hard and slow, has worked for me so far

>\- What I usually do is basically XC I guess (dirt roads, and up and down hills, nothing too adventurous)

>\- My initial budget was around $2,000 tops, but as I shopped around I understood good bikes are more expensive than that
– My ultimate goal with buying this bike will be to have an mtb bike that can serve me well for many years and that is comfortable and good for regular mtb, nothing crazy.

So as I see it, I have 3 options:
1- The Marin fits on my budget but I think it’s a little overpriced vs what it costs new
2- Pivot and Scott are reasonably priced for what they are, but I’m doubting if they are “too much” for me
3- Wait for better options (for example this seller had an Intense ACV+ 27.5 at $1,790, that is not available anymore)
What do you recommend? are the Pivot or the Scott such good deals / good quality that I should make an effort and pay more than I wanted initially?

Last year’s rift zone 3’s are going for 1900 brand new . Comes with upgraded suspension and a dropper vs the RZ1. Or the polygon t8 which has an even better fork and is similarly priced. Or this year’s rift zone 2 for 2200 which has a much improved frame and similar suspension.
Honestly, i think used bikes in are being priced out of the market right now. Probably different for really high end brands, but for normal people bikes, theyre being sold new for the same price as people want for a used one. I assume by next season used prices will have to come down too, but they really havent yet.
IMO all of those bikes are extremely overpriced, I am seeing lightly used full suspension bikes that are 2-3 years old on my local marketplace going for prices significantly lower than those. Almost $3K for a used bike is not happening right now, unless it is in perfect condition and only 1-2 years old with nice components. Those bikes look pretty old/outdated, If that’s your budget I would shop around for some new options as most are on sale (especially the aluminum models).
