I am looking to get into mountain biking recreationally. I spoke briefly with a salesman at a bike shop recently. I am a large person (6’5, 255lbs), with an abnormally long arms, so it was recommended I look into a XXL frame.
He recommended a Specialized Rockhopper Comp or Rockhopper Expert. Both of these are within my price range, and seem like viable options to start with, as I don’t want to spend a large sum on a bike if I don’t end up using to the extent that certain price points would demand.
These are prices on the website at the time of posting. Are these two models fairly comparable, or is getting the expert a no-brainer right now at this price?

Expert is definitely the nicer of the two for the price. When it isn’t on sale, the jump from Comp to Expert isn’t exactly great value.
