Took my ship of Theseus Brompton up a 1600m climb, 72km round trip ride today. The last 8km was gravel. There was still a crazy 9km climb to go to the peak but as you can see in the second picture there’s still snow up there. Plus I was getting tired and ran out of water!

The gearing is a 42T front chainring with the 12 speed hub but an added 5th gear with 21T. Kinda wish I put the 24T on but I procrastinated.

This was near Jaen, Spain!

  1. Oh and the tyres were Schwalbe G One haha the 35mm width handled the gravel like a champ.

great ! true that depending on one’s condition, one might climb mont venteux with 56T chainring and 21T sprocket too

  3. Was checking your video with the route and looks quite a good trip. It is surprising where a bit more effort can take you.

    How has been the route?
