I purchased this Endurace CF 7 in an XL since:
1) that was the only size in stock at the time and
2) I had concerns of the L feeling too small and require a goofy setup since I’m on the cusp of the L/XL fitment boxes

I went for a ride and didn’t notice much discomfort, however the seat is all the way forward and the seat post is near the maximum lowest height. The standover height is also cutting it closer than my current daily single speed.

How does the fitment look? Should I exchange for a L? I’m sort of concerned how much I will be refunded if I do since an errant shift scratched the chain ring.

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

  2. Canyon’s size recs are pretty accurate IMO. I’m on the cusp of M/L for aeroad and ultimate and for each model I’ve landed on the smaller option, thru some trial and error. As for returns, they are pretty chill about accepting used bikes with some signs of usage. I’ve returned a bike after a couple weeks of heavy riding and they accepted it. I also see heavily used bikes pop up on the outlet so I imagine it’s possible to return with a damaged chain ring. Probably means a deeper discount for the outlet shopper who eventually gets your bike. At the end of the day, a small restock fee might be worth eating up if it means you have a bike that fits you better in the long run. You know the saying about making a small bike fit larger being easier than the other way around.

A pic of you with the pedal at 3 o’clock would be good for a basic evaluation. But just from this pic the fit looks okay although you were in L and not in-between two sizes.
