I don’t think you can run a single speed with a full suspension. you need a tensioner to run single speed. Mountain bikes have derailleur to change gears and provide tension.
I have a 1998 FSR Pro that sadly have the derailleur hanger stripped, I have discussed turning it into a single speed in a fashion similar to you but have discovered its not really possible
