Dear community

I‘m about to buy the Grizl CF SL 8 1by. https://www.canyon.com/de-de/gravel-bikes/adventure/grizl/cf-sl/grizl-cf-sl-8-1by/3697.html?dwvar_3697_pv_rahmenfarbe=R095_P11

I want to use it for bike packing tours (gravel, forest, asphalt, hilly, daily business). This bike seems to be a really good compromise for that.

From my body measurements I’m clearly a XL. But when I‘m on my road bike (Endurace) I often have the feeling the reach could be a bit shorter.

When I compare the geometry of my racing bike (XL) with the stats of the Grizl I’m not sure if I should buy it in L. The XL has 2 cm more in reach. I‘m really unsure what to do. Although the table clearly says the Grizl in XL is a good fit.

Endurace XL: 625 stack, 407 reach
Grizl L: 605 stack, 409 Reach
Grizl XL: 626 Stack, 427 Reach

Should I do a bike fitting on my road bike before I buy a gravel to know what I need? Or would you recommend to buy XL and shorten the stem?

You can see I’m a bit helpless here. As this is my first gravel bike and I don’t know much about the best posture I‘m thankful for every tip and thought. 🙂

Note I did the measurements of my body right after getting up in the morning. Just in case this is important as you shrink a bit over the day.

It appears you are looking for bike fitting help. Please make sure you post as screenshot of the Canyon size chart for your bike, with your point in it. See [this example](https://imgur.com/a/ALUfXyy)

  2. You should look at the Stack+ and Reach+ dimensions at the bottom of the geometry charts.

I suspect that the grizl will have a shorter stem and handlebar reach.

Just trust the canyon suggestion btw, you’re clearly an XL
