Congrats! I’ve heard amazing things about that bike.
The most important thing is to keep it clean and lubed. Everything will last longer. And keep up on recommended maintenance intervals on suspension and brakes.
One thing that’ll save you money in the long run…check your chain wear every couple hundred miles and replace it when it’s time. If you neglect it then other drivetrain components will start wearing out faster and maintenance suddenly got 5x more expensive. Happy riding!
Congrats on the new shred sled! I’d say learn to do some basic maintenance and carry a multi tool + tire repair stuff on you when you ride. As far as skill goes, what helped me the most was riding with other people and sessioning features until I felt confident. If you don’t have friends to ride with yet you should have no problem meeting people on the trails that can turn into great friends.
don’t lean it on the frame….jeez. you have a perfectly good back tire that will lean against just about anything.
VK? Looks like Stairway to Heaven. If so, it’s been dry, careful with front wheel washouts as that sand is pretty fine and loose. I like to run my rear a little higher PSI than my front tire. Prefer the back sliding out than the front.
Very nice
Always get your suspension serviced! Keep it clean and have fun. It’ll get lots of scratches and that’s okay! It’s a sign it’s becoming a loved bike. Enjoy it and get after it. This is the most epic sport ever!
Very nice.1st ride, congrats. Myself, I started watching vids on YouTube. Pinkbike & Global Mountainbike Network are a couple of my favorite channels. Personally I gotten my best tips on riding technical trails, drops, maintenance, etc from watching them. Then of course flat out riding as much as you can. 👍
Learn to do all the maintenance yourself, its really useful. Also clean the stanchions and chain every 1-2 rides, if you get a good routine you can do it in 2 minutes and it prolongs the lifespan of those components a lot.
