Went over the handlebars today and into a nice roll. Felt fine after the fall and got right back up on to the bike. No bike damage and body felt good. Was proud of the roll. When I got back to the car after the ride was over and took off my helmet I can feel full pressure on the left side of my head, no pain. Don’t seem to have any concussion symptoms or anything either and I feel good. Took a look at the helmet and saw all the deformation. In guessing it did its job and the helmet is toast.

Yes. Helmets are one time use and once you crash and hit it, it is done.
I dunno, MIPS stands for Multiple Impact Protectin System, right? But I also wear a 20 year old Giro that i prefer to a kask mips.

One of the scariest calls I ever attended was cyclist with a TBI. He was stuck in a short term memory loop re-asking the same questions every 5 minutes.
A new helmet is way cheaper than an ER visit.
That helmet has done its job, it won’t be able to absorb nearly as much energy if you hit that area again. Replace it.

Helmets are single use, buy a new one
Yes, it is toast. It has served its purpose as a single use item and now needs to be replaced.
Many major helmet manufacturers offer discounts to replace helmets damaged in crashes. I had a Smith helmet save my skull in a rough crash and got 30% off a new one. I believe Giro has a similar policy detailed on a FAQ page.
I would look into that and contact the manufacturer to see if you can get a new at a discount

Like everyone else said, helmets are built for one time use.
But I want to add a lot of helmet makers offer crash replacement. It’s usually like 50% off a new helmet or some such discount. Worth looking into when getting your new helmet!

When I smashed my head off a ultiliry truck my skull cracked like an egg. Eye socket crushed.
I was a 1 in a million case. No vision loss or double vision ( bottom of eye socket didnt fall out so still see straight and no concussion.).
Was I beyond lucky? Yes.
Was it annoying being asked the time date and my name and where I was every 5 minutes for 24 hours? Yes.
They kept me for 36 hours cause they where convinced I must have brain swelling frim the crash. Had 2 ct scans. Had to drink from a straw for weeks as the whole front of my skull was spiderwed fractured.
I get headaches every time the rains come. And colds make me feel like my eyes gonna pop out cause of how messed us my sinuses are now.
Also I have no feeling in my forehead on the left side cause all the nerves in my face got severed at the eyebrow where it all crushed in.
Just buy a new helmet you wont be as lucky as me.
