
Hi, I’m currently restoring a 90’ MTB, I removed the BB to clean the shell, regrease bearings etc and noticed there’s a hole where the BB and chainstay join.
I haven’t worked on many bikes before so I’m not sure it’s normal or if the frame is good for the junkyard

That’s normal. Also, don’t forget to remove the rest of the BB.
Basically any welded or brazed frame will have holes where the tubes join, it’s party of the manufacturing process, they are releaf cents for gas build up during welding/brazing, nothing to worry about
