I picked up a Wolverine 2nd hand to build as a SSCX bike. I was really impressed with how it rides.

I also love my soma, although mine is an older mid 2000s smoothie.

Are you comfortable on the saddle as-is? I think most people riding brooks b17s have them with a slight nose up, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one nose down.
