I've been biking for about a year on a 20 year old Trek 2120 and I'm looking for something newer.
I do mostly endurance rides and am playing with the idea of doing some triathlons next year.
I don't know anything about bikes but this seems like a good deal, is it?

I should note however that a UK retailer was knocking out brand new (but unassembled) 105 equipped SL6s not long ago for not much more. This was an exceptional deal, but in these strange times you should double check what you could get brand new before going second hand.
I’ve just bought a very good (I’m picky) 2018 Defy Advanced for a great price, but it’s gonna cost me a couple of hundred to bring it up to my standards before riding (new rotors, pads, new inner and outer shift cables, new tape, new tyres and tubes), plus a good chunk of my time to do that work. I don’t mind as I find working on bikes therapeutic. If you’re not similarly wired however and just want to get out and ride, will you be okay with doing so on a bike that’ll have noticeably worn consumables and touchpoints?
In my opinion 1500 is to much. Mediocre wheels. Pretty basic groupset. Around 700 seems like a better price.
