For almost 2 years I’ve been drooling over this bike and finally decided to pull the trigger. This is my first “real” bike and the biggest purchase I’ve ever made. I’m just shy of 5’6 with a 30/31in inseam and canyon recommended xs. I’ve never been an xs anything in my life including unisex items so that seemed.. wrong. After reading every sizing thread I could and consulting with a friend, I decided to stick with the xs.
Just out of the box the first thing I noticed was how small it was. It wasnt comfortable to ride at all. I figured that’s just how fancy bikes feel but the shop I brought it to for a fitting also said it’s too small so I’ve returned it.
Now the dilemma is, do I get small or medium? This frame seems ridiculously small so I’m worried small will still be too small. Size small is also out of stock for the foreseeable future so I’d have to buy used and risk not being able to return it. Medium is restocking soon.
It measures about 51cm, and according to the trek chart (last photo) I should be on the top end of a 52 or the bottom end of a 54cm frame. This makes me feel like I should order medium.
TLDR: xs bike 2 smol, need halp deciding if i should get medium or small
