I have brand new look keo pedals and cleats however they are creaking with a fair bit of side to side play. They are clipping in correctly but when I lift my foot there is a lot of play. For context, I have a set of assiomas on another bike and these cleats have no issues with them, just on these new look keo pedals

Don’t hear anything unusual for all the movement you’re doing. Which model did you get 8, 10, 12, 16 nM? What color cleats?
You might have gotten clears that have more float then your old cleats
Make sure you tighten your pedals extra snug
