I mean… do you have any worse pictures to show us so we can answer that question?

But seriously where should we even start?

  2. Take everything apart, down to jockey wheels and pivots. Lube and reassemble. Now you will be able to assess function. My bet is that it’ll be fine. And replace the shift cable.

Why, not shifting well? Some of the best advice I ever heard for wrenching on bikes is “it’s not broken until it’s clean and broken.” Maybe your shifting issues are due to a bent derailleur, maybe not. But I’ll tell you what’s definitely not helping your drivetrain is all that rust on the chain. Clean it first, then if it’s still broken we can talk bent components.

  4. From what I remember of these derailleurs it will be worn out. The pivot points get very loose and the derailleur just suggests a cog

  5. Not sure if that’s a bike or a torture device…

Come to think of it, that kinda always applies

Probably just dirty, it’s commonly known mud can make stuff seem like its broken and physically in the wrong place, but a quick wash and it should be as good as new
