5 months ago I found a 25.5” Trek on Craigslist. I’m 6’4 and this is a frame I’ve been looking for. The guy was really flaky so it took him nearly a month to meet with me even though he seemed to live in my neighborhood 🙄. I knew this was not a frame I was going to come across soon after.
The bike was basically a frame with mismatched 700\27” wheels so what I put together is a total hodgepodge. Total list of parts: New 700 “Wheelmaster” wheels with Weinmann rims, 23mm gumwalls, Sakae crank that looks exactly like an Ofmega, Sunrace 6spd freewheel, chain, 90s 105 rear short cage derailleur, JAGWIRE housing, Koolstop pads, NOS genuine sheepskin cover, NOS comically sized dork disk, NOS Cat eye light, NOS Bushwhacker seat bag and probably a half dozen things I’m forgetting about. I stripped all anodizing and polished metal. Compound polished and waxed frame. The finished product….ummmm, a bit much? This bike is a touring frame…but yeah 😂 Opinions?

Looks good to me.
It’s great, just get rid of that car wash mitt on the saddle, maybe add a new Rolls. It looks quite steep to be for touring imho, at least the head tube. What’s the ride like? How twitchy is the steering? I say one more downtube shifting bike on the road is a win for cycling. Have fun!
I’ve never heard of anyone ADDING a dork disc lol. And the frame size is 25.5” CTC? Any idea what size it says in the catalog?
Digging those kool-stop pads! What is that strap on the lever? A parking brake?
What is that light? It looks amazing, do you have a link for it?
Cool bike. Saddle needs to go.
I’m incredibly short, so the other end of the I can’t find a bike spectrum. Well, for many years they were all aquamarine and pink; but yeah. Love the dork disk.
saddle covers are a travesty, no exceptions even if it does look like a doodle
Really nice original paint. Good job getting it to come up
Oh the fuzzy seat is awesome.
I love the saddle cover! Comfy, hilarious and just the right punch on the face to the bike “experts”
I think my grandparents had that cover on their toilet seat lid.
Is that a Waterford Trek? That’s a pretty big and beautiful bike! At 6’4, are you a long legs skeleton as 25.5″/65CM is a TALL frame! How’s your stand over height?
Please clip the remaining rear derailleur cable before it gets pulled into the wheel, chain and/or derailleur.
What is that saddle about?
I am 100% ok with one piece of Dorkophernalia… but the saddle cover, battery light, and pie plate all together are too much, especially with still having a single pivot caliper on the front.
