  1. Since I have no other basis for understanding helmet safety, I think it’s fine to lean on third party findings! Although I do still buy a specialized ambush instead of a tactic. You want me to be seen in a $60 helmet just because it’s “safer” or “a better value??

  2. All for it. They’re just advertising based on safety from an impartial group that’s the gold standard the testing. If any helmet brands are unhappy or think it’s unfair, make a safer helmet that tests better

  3. Hey, if you ranked well in it, go for it. V-tech isn’t changing their testing for them, and if I ranked top I’d be touting it too. Hell, cars used to advertise where they ranked in the crash test ratings.I mean, I switched helmets in both kayaking and MTB because the ones I had weren’t ranked well. ESPECIALLY in Kayaking where the helmet I had ranked so low, I think I was actually safer if I wasn’t wearing it.

  4. It’s fine, as long as they aren’t paying VT to influence the results of the testing and that it’s purely independent.

It’s like being awarded Bike of the year or Component of the year by Andrew at Meat Engines (https://meatengines.com/) – you should be proud of that shit.

If you win it from Pinkbike, then you should be proud of your marketing budget.

With modern helmet safety ratings very unsafe helmets get sold.
Almost no company’s post anything about the impact ratings of the helmets , leaving the consumer with the one very low rating to be sold In your country.

Having a way to test helmets in the same way and be repeatable / accurate, is awesome .

I won’t buy a helmet that’s not on the list / tested. Very happy brands are starting to market with it, every helmet should be tested by a third party and the results shown off.
