I got this new bike last week, since the first day there is a creaking noise from right side pedal I think.

Some observations I made and things I have tried,

  1. It only happens on the right side when pedaling hard.

  2. Because ot does not happens on easier gear ratio, It's probably not chain rubbing with FD.

  3. It's not the seatpost either as it happens when I am riding out of saddle as well.

  4. I have applied grease to the pedal threads (red one from decathlon) and have swapped the pedals as well from another bike which doesn't have this problem, It's still creaking.

  5. The creaking is quiter in the video as I had only one hand on handlebar, with both hands on bike it becomes noticeably louder.

Also, I had similar problem with my other bike (whose pedals I swapped with this one), but it went away on Its own.

  1. Seat post. Mine was the seat post when riding out of the saddle too. Weird but that stopped the noise once re greased. It’s not hard to rule out anyway also while you’re there seat rails.
