  1. What a shame to loose all that open space…and the farm house…that’s a tragedy…why can’t it be incorporated into the development somehow? Developers do that here in the US all the time…sad

  2. Good to see you are feeling a lot better now. It’s sad to see the countryside being swallowed up with development everywhere. It’s quite depressing really. It seems relentless. We should enjoy what is left of these places before they are all gone forever.

  3. Thanks for the video John. I better hold my tongue on modernization or my blood pressure will go to the moon again!! Have a great day! Cheers!!! Illinois, USA

  4. The obstacle course made me chuckle for sure but how sad we are loosing such beautiful countryside and those single track roads just won't cope loosing more hedgerows and natural habitat 😢

  5. It is said that progress is inevitable. I suppose that is true but it's our choice how that progress happens. The problem is, people want large and spacious homes outside of the city. Land owners are all too keen to cash in it seems. It's hard to think of a single thing that isn't being ruined by greed. Glad you're feeling better Sandy.

  6. Pretty good for a bloke 60 plus! Well, done Sandy! Living in the Philippines and missing the UK countryside, homesick! Saddened by the world circumstance just now. Funny how we can find the money to blow each other to smithereens, but can find the money for social services, the NHS etc. – Must say it's good to see you biking again, i enjoy all your content for sure on your bike is the best.

  7. Great video, Sandy! Good to see you out and about. I really enjoy your channel. It was fun to see you do the obstacle course. Cheers!

  8. Unfortunately while you have government’s who turn a blind eye to illegal immigration resulting in overpopulation the beautiful history on old England will be destroyed , for ever, very sad indeed .

  9. Thank you for a great video I watched your last video with that polish levu tent was really nice about the 10 and had a zipper in the front. That was the first time I saw that on a lavuu tent. I want them to restore that house and keep it there.

  10. It's the same everywhere, a mad dash for development. We're being swamped by new and ugly housing here in Cornwall and there doesn't seem to be any way of stopping it.

  11. Another cracking video Sandy to add to your amazing library of film. What stunning countryside aswell just begining to bloom at this wonderful time of the year. So enjoyed watching this with a cup of tea this morning. It has set me up for the day. So glad to hear and see you are looking better and look forward to whatever you are up to next. Thanks Sandy and all the very best. Mick

  12. Great to see you're felling better and getting out and about Sandy. I was having a look at some of your older videos recently and happened upon one showcasing your knife making. Mate I was extremely impressed. You are a genuinely skilled craftsman indeed! Cheers from down under and thanks for the videos, I'm really enjoying your channel.

  13. An important video charting the changes in rural landscapes. An importance that will only increase over the coming years as the ‘development’ of the countryside inevitably, sadly picks up pace. In the quite recent past authors such as Francis Kilvert, Denys Watkins-Pitchford, Richard Jefferies and others recorded a world now pretty much gone. The task of continuing in their work has in part been taken up videographers like you. Well done for the part you are playing in that.

  14. It’s a difficult one Sandy. There’s a big demand for housing in the Thames valley as there are very well paid jobs. Over the UK there are loads of derelict housing just not in areas where people want to live and work. Glad to hear you are on the mend mate.

  15. What a lovely relaxing and important video, it's really nice to see the countryside like you show it. For me, it is a very sad time. I have just lost my lovely wife.❤. They should never be allowed to pull down a lovely old building like that.

  16. Nice music and linear edit Sandy. Sadly, here in lothian and Borders the once protected green belt is being built on by developer's, houses affordable by the few. Its utterly short sighted 😢

  17. I did a couple of cycling trips in Sandy’s locale last year. As a Yorkshireman, I concur there is beautiful countryside to the South and East of Swindon. It’d be a shame if swathes of greenbelt were lost.

  18. Hi Sandy, glad your feeling better and got your mojo back, it’s also nice to see your inner child is still fighting fit😊
All these new houses are progress so I’m told🤷
I’d like to know where all the water supply to service all the new houses is coming from, anyway progress it is then😊👍😎

  19.
