  1. Cassette/ free hub fell off wheel whilst giving it a clean. Put it back on but chain would fall off on lowest gear and wouldn’t make it onto highest gear. Have taken the wheel off and cassette/ free hub off now having this issue where not clicking like it normally would. Have tried turning clockwise whilst putting back on with no luck. Any ideas or tips would be appreciated! Shimano TC500

  2. The freehub body is still attached to the cassette. Use a chain whip and cassette removal too to undo the lock ring and remove the cassette from freehub body. Next install freehub body back into hub – you’ll need to gently depress the pawls as you press it into place. Then reinstall the cassette and tighten locking.

  3. Put it on, twist counter clockwise until the pawls fold in and you can push it all the way down

  4. Pay attention to the cap, you need to push it back in with click. The one that probably rattles inside cassete now. It locks onto hub axle.

  5. Slowly rotate counterclockwise while pushing down, pawls need to slide in the hub body.
