Just picked up this Scott Fun for a bit more than I really wanted to spend, but couldn’t pass up a bike I’d never seen before in the condition this one is in.

The Scott Fun seems to have fallen through the cracks of time with very little information about it to be had online; evidently it did not sell very well. Falling under the XC class of bikes that Scott designed for a couple years in the early 90s, this was a city hybrid bike; it came with all the bells and whistles one would expect – flat bars, 700c wheels, fenders, a rack, and friction dynamo lighting. The 91 model came equipped with an Exage 500 LX groupset.

A Chinese-made (something I wasn’t expecting) 4130 Chromoly frame, this bike must have been bought in or brought back to China at some point, as it still has a Beijing Registration Plate on the rear. China abolished mandatory bike registration in 2004, so this plate has been hanging out here for a minute.

Now that it has made its way to the PNW, I have no idea what I’m going to do with it. I may keep it as original as possible, but time will tell. Figured I’d post it in it’s current state before I dive into it.
