I have an overly attached & anxious Italian greyhound who can’t be left alone- ever. lol I’m trying to find a bike seat for him so I can go on bike rides with my partner (currently only one of us can ride at a time since the other has to stay home with the pup). Has anyone ever tried the Buddy Rider attachment? Or any experience using a basket for the handle bars? I’m open to other options as well.
Pic attached of my bike and the cutie.

I wouldn’t endanger my dog by putting it on/in a bike seat.
Get a trailer.
A trailer is going to be your best bet by far but is going to be the heaviest option – based on the size of the dog you might get away with a rear rack and some type of soft sided secure basket/pet carrier attached to it securely if you know he will sit still and just ride.

Buddyrider – Love it. It held our shih Tzu about 18lbs and it was great being able to give him pets and check that he was okay throughout our ride. He loved that he was getting the breeze. Didn’t add any weight to the handlebars.
I’ve used the Axiom pet basket on a handlebar with a Yorkie. It only carries 8 lbs up front, but can also be attached to a rear rack.

Look up side cars for bicycles. That might be your only option for your dog.

Before my dog passed away I used a backpack from K-9 Sport (I think…it was that style at least) to carry her bc she was getting old and immobile. She absolutely loved it and I’d recommend it thoroughly. It allowed her to basically hug me from behind and when I was cycling she’d face the wind, over my shoulder. It was easy to adjust to her body shape, very secure, came with extra storage (and the ability to add more if I wanted) and since she was secured I was able to take her on trains, busses and in stores. A few of my friends ended up buying them too and all love them. I’d definitely recommend that style of bag.
Some dogs do ok in a backpack, but that’s going to be hard on you. If you are sure he won’t jump out then that could work. (Not a dog person, I think this breed is on the smaller side, yes?)
