Got the nuts off one side expecting the axle to slide out,but it's still locked in.To get the remaining nut off, it seems as if I would have to grip the threads as stupid as it sounds. Any help? Thanks
Try tapping the axle through (lightly) and see if it gets you anywhere

Yes tap it.
Prepare for it to fly out though, keep away from carpets.

Another option is to put 2 nuts back onto the nds and lock together, then wrench on the inside nds nut and the one holding the freehub shell. Then unlock the two, and Robert’s your mother’s brother.
