  1. Buy once cry once. Save up for the Ortliebs. You’ll thank yourself in a decade when they still cover any issues you may encounter. Those cheaper bags tend to disintegrate at the seams rather quickly. Even if you don’t bikepack/ tour with them, they can come in handy for commuting or grocery trips. Yes, they’re expensive, but they’re worth it in the long run.

    I’d also recommend checking Craigslist or similar for used Ortliebs, might find one that’s in good shape and a fair bit cheaper than new.
