i just slapped this 26×2.125 on an unknown frame i bought, it previously had a 700x28c on it. yall reckon i could squeeze in a 27.5er? what tire size do yall think is good? i personlly think 26 is too small
sure it could but making it have the same width as your 26er would make it rough against the stay bridges. I think 27.5×1.75″ would be the max that you should go for.
or as an alternative, you can also take a look at 650b gravel tires, those would also add a better look for your bike as well.

You going to have to be careful of the tire clearance, Clarence.

Not with a 2.125 width tire

Sure. Of course you will need to watch the clearance. A 26″ wheel has a bead seat of 559mm. 27.5 is 584mm. A diameter difference of 25mm or radial difference of 12.5mm. So the widest part of a 27.5/ 650b tire will be roughly 12.5mm farther up the seatstays (also check the chainstays as that’s often the tightest point).
