So sad! Finally pulled the trigger on getting my long awaited Canyon Aeroad. On only my second ride I crashed. Downhill, very bumpy, slight turn, lost control and stupidly couldn’t make the turn or brake enough. Slowly drfited off the road into the dirt and crashed at about 20mph.
I’m fine physically(just a few bumps and bruises), bike frame and wheels seem totally fine. Just the left shifter/brake is broken. The handlebar was shifted slightly off center.
Any tips or advice on how to handle getting the bike fixed?

Buy the shifter and take to LBS to be fixed. Maybe buy it from a reputable bike parts dealer though.
Glad your ok. About the lever. Is it DI2? Do the brakes and shifters still function? Are any structural pieces broken rather than scratches? If it’s broken, you’ll need a replacement assembly. They really aren’t very serviceable.
Alignment issues of bars and levers are common after a crash and pretty easy to fix. Loosen bolts. Realign. Torque to spec.
Cosmetic damage is something you’ll learn to embrace.

If you have to come here to ask, just take it in to a bike shop and let them get it all sorted and fully safe to ride again. You could have broken handle bars or steerer tube and you don’t want those to fail on you during another decent.Â
