New frame issue – help!

Hi All,

I’m looking for some advice.

I purchased a new old stock Pinarello Prince frameset about three weeks ago and gathered the necessary groupset, wheels, and accessories to complete the build. After assembling the bike, my mechanic discovered that the seatpost doesn’t fit the frame. It doesn’t go in past 2 cms.

Since this is a new frame, I have the option to register it for warranty. Would you recommend registering it first and then reaching out to the retailer for the issue or should I contact the retailer first since I purchased it recently?

Want to avoid the situation where retail says that they cant help since I havnt registered yet. (If thats a thing)
