Hello, I'm preparing to get into mountain biking as a hobby. I will mainly be going down gravel/dirt roads, backwoods trails, and grassy fields. Idk why, but I have my eyes set on a Cannondale, most likely one of the three options below in the links. Which one would you pick? Or do you have a solid recommendation for an alternative bike of a different brand? My budget is under 1.5k.

Thanks for your input.

  1. All right, let me explain about undebiking. Now, you say you’re staying on those kind of things, and then you think “Oh what the hell, some single track sounds fun”
One day you realize that your bike has absolutely no chance of keeping up with your new desires.
Of the three, the Habit has the best chance of keeping up, just on geometry.

  2. From your selection, the Habit is your choice. The CX-1 is a commuter, paved paths bike. Oddly, the CX-1 has the best range cassette of the three. Bummer.
