I just got my animal GLH tire 2.1 used(good condition) and when I went to ride it today,it looked whitish and felt abit slippy at the park.
Similar with my maxxis one at the front.
Also my cranks have a bit of a space in them.
It moved around when I was riding and I’m not sure how to fix it.
It was serviced 2 months ago and I never had this problem.
I’m not sure why they started moving around.
Thanks

Why are my tires white and how do I fix moving cranks?

  1. Your tyres are just dusty, nothing wrong with them. Add an extra spacer to your cranks on non drive side.

  2. The white is in my guess brine from the roads if you live in a stormy area that uses that stuff to keep roads and sidewalks from freezing. GLH is a slippy tire on park it’s meant to have a little give, it helps when riding street I like to have a tire that slides a bit on asphalt you could try switching them around the GLH is great for those tire slide 180s and don’t pinch as much on tire grabs. The cranks are missing one maybe two spacers someone didn’t know how to properly tighten cranks and probably was using too many spacers and pinched them tight so when the took some out they had play but they spun so they said that will work and gave you your bike back lol.

  3. As other answer it’s salt, tyres will mark up and discolour anyway regardless, don’t worry about it!
