Anyone had experience or got feedback on the newish Smartmotion Hypersonic G5 e-bike?
They’re cheap at our local store and I would love to know more. I’ve come across reviews but they are a few years old now.
Is the bike bad? Must be for the price?!

– I ride in Wellington in New Zealand
– I currently ride a Kona 134 process about two years old
– Generally ride intermediate and expert trails
– I am an intermediate reader probably ride about once or twice per week
– Budget is around $7,000 New Zealand dollars

I’ve never heard of any of those component’s brands on the bike, which is a huge red flag for me. The top speed isn’t high for a typical emtb either.
But I mean hey, maybe all of those brands are good…I just never have heard of them.
I had a coworker that used to ride a Smartmotion commuter bike and loved it at least.
Pretty sure I’ve seen a lot of good emtb for around your budget in NZ lately. But might not be in your size due to last stock.
Edit: also no dropper post!? Wtf.
Agree with other guy, it’s all no brand/cheap components that I’ve never heard of, apart from the tyres. Stick to a brand with decent components on, a Bosch motor, Fox or Rockshox suspension etc.
