Zermatt, Switzerland, is a spellbinding alpine municipality, south of Switzerland in the canton of Valais, known for its stunning views, charming streets, and world-renowned ski resorts.
Situated at the foot of the iconic Matterhorn mountain, Zermatt offers outdoor adventures all year-round, from skiing and snowboarding in the winter to hiking and mountain biking in the summer.
The highlight of our trip to Zermatt is the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, which is the highest cable car station in Europe, reaching an altitude of 3,883 meters (12,740 feet).
We could have missed the Matterhorn during our visit (in autumn) due to zero visibility; still, the journey, the jaw-dropping scenery, the landscape, and the Glacier Palace were absolutely an ultimate Swiss alps experience!
Glacier Palace, an ice cave with intricate ice sculptures, is a must-see, offering a unique experience inside the thousand-year-old glacier.
Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or awe-inspiring vistas, Zermatt and the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise offer an unforgettable mountain escape in Switzerland.
