  1. Curious to see the use case for the average person. Not knocking the tech as I am glad that things are being pushed forward and while it is useful from a general sense, I wonder if it will cause a price premium and be justified for purchase. Though, I suppose if they fully switch all of their wheelsets then it is a moot point I guess.

  2. Proof that the cycling industry has run out of ideas. This is not revolutionary. This is not evolutionary. This is a company throwing darts at a board trying to find something that will continue to separate people from their money in the face of increased pressure from manufacturers from the far east offering the same (sometimes better) product at more competitive prices

“With the standard tire hand pump measuring at only +/-5% accuracy, most cyclists have never experienced the impact that good tire pressure has on ride comfort. TyreWiz eliminates barriers by taking the guesswork out of tire pressure.”

If 5% off 30psi ruins your ride, by all means spend some more money!

I signed up for the Outrider kickstarter which is an aftermarket product similar to this.  “Supposed” to ship late this month, but you know kickstarters so it might not exist until summer.  It does already have a Garmin Connect app integration for the head unit, so I’ll be able to see the pressure live and have alarms for flat tires as they deflate.

It kind of makes sense with hookless rims which are dangerous if the pressure isn’t right.

I hope the UCI bans hookless rims before someone is seriously hurt.

  6. I really think it’s going to be related to a maximum pressure warning, but also display PSI as an ancillary feature.
