I just got this entry level Cannondale Carbon bike, and I’m planning on painting it to look like a top level, Tour de France kind of bike. With the nice fade and mat paint. Good idea? I got the bike for 2200€ (it was a display model so I think it’s a great deal) and the paint job will be about 1000€. And an the extra 300€ for taking the bike apart (I’m not too technical)

1300 for a paintjob? Its way too expensive, specially for a entry level bike. For sure if you have money, do whaterver you like but for most of people that money just for paint its a crazy economic disaster. I mean, for q entry level bike you can do a lot of improvements with that money or buy a midrange bike.
How strong of a rider are you? Its still gaudy but if you smoke everyone on your local roads then do what you want, otherwise I think most people would find you foolish
