Wd40 is great for loosening up stuck things, also great as a preventative measure to avoid seizing from water ingress

I use WD on bikes all the time…..but NEVER for lubrication. To loosen something, to clean up a chain, to buff off surface rust with some steel wool….lots of stuff. But it’s always a “use and remove” treatment.

You need a solid piece of metal like a wrench and use it as a pry bar. I’ve done the s to my wheels lol

Yes. WD40 was designed primarily as a penetrating oil and while it’s gained more uses over the years to varying degrees it is still a penetrating oil

Yes, I cycle mine every so often and they get some corrosion. Since I dont release it very often it will get stuck. Its the rain and moisture that gets in there. I have a dropper seat so I hardly every have to unlossen the quick release.

Tip drops onto the moving party. A spray just wastes the stuff.

Use a 12” piece of rigid metal pipe on the end of the quick release for leverage to loosen it

Or try deep penetrating oil such as B’laster.
Yes absolutely.
Try to keep it from going down the seat post.
