Never thought you could cycle through – what toll do you pay? š
Thank you for this video Chris!
Very nice ride! enjoyed going along.
yikes going thru the tunnel on a bike!?!
it was scary just seeing it. š®
seeing the rest of things there is wonderful.
I agree its a shame when old "land Mark" type bldgs are knocked down.
they might not be useful, but I miss them for sure.
here in the states, places like that are converted into lofts for the living.
makes for a very impressive facade š
Im not a fan of ferry rides, but sure more relaxing than a tunnel.
even driving a car thru makes me tense.
haha you went past my collage at the ship wreck
Its Canada Geese lol. I think the park at 11.53 is where the tower used to be
Didn't think I'd watch all this but I did and I really enjoyed it. I'm from Liverpool but moved away a long time ago and have never been to Birkenhead. This was eye-opening. What a weird and wonderful little town. Some of the architecture was mind-blowing. Thank you.
Also you can go after 8pm mid week which is what I plan to do in the summer probably , Iām aware of the heat humidity etc
Really enjoyed this explore – thanks š
You missed a historic fact at 11:24, underneath that building is the site of an ammunition factory that was a secret manufacturing facility during the war, also the first place to use fluorescent lighting. The present owner sued United Utilities for the constant flooding during storms as they had not fitted the correct non-return valves etc.
You also missed the caves under the gardens – the old smugglers caves that are just by the sandstone doorways in the wall past the crazy golf course. During the late 80s they were opened to the public, called the Wormhole Caves. Access is down through a cover in the garden of a house, down a 6ft ladder and in to the original caves that went for about 600M towards Wallasey Village. They got too narrow at the end so excavation was not possible. I have been down them a few times and think the present owners have dug them out a bit and made use of them!
The only laugh is you have to pay for it 90 years later Birkenhead is not Liverpool woolly back
you wouldn't believe it, but…domick house, used to be an actual fucking job centre, LOL
I thought you werent meant to ride bikes though the tunnel i thought they banned it
