My knee did that. I've already bought another frame but can't collect it until next month. Safe to ride once a week? I've used it on the trainer and I haven't noticed any expansion.
I would not. Have you ever stood on a pop can and it’s fine until it collapses? That’s aluminum for you. If your knee did this I wouldn’t trust the wall thickness one bit

Jfc xD did you give it the ol’ falcon knee?
No chance homeslice, *maybe* if it was the downtube since that experiences tension more than compression but this right here is the top tube.
The top tube is under mostly compressive forces so you’ll hit a small bump or torque it into a turn and it will suddenly and quickly fold itself in half.
Either leave it on the trainer perhaps, or just give it a big squish, I’ll bet you can bend that by hand already.
That’ll stop you riding it and give you an idea just how close to going it really was 😛

It’s fine to ride. Just watch it for cracking.

Was your knee between the bike and the road, or a brick wall? Hard to believe that your knee would put such a dent if there wasnt’ something else on the other side of your knee.

I think the safe answer is NO, but…. I would. Just being honest. Just take it easy.

As long as you’re not riding it over any bumps or very fast I think it should be fine to ride it around for a while. Maybe give it a test run where you carefully hit a bump with some force and make sure it doesn’t collapse.

I don’t recognize the brand. Was this a really cheap bike? The fact your knee was able to dent the top tube this hard indicates it might be. The same low quality material that allowed this dent will catastrophically fail sooner too. So, in the words of Dirty Harry… do you feel lucky?

Probably fine on a trainer, but still not totally safe. If it breaks, then you can just unclip and stand up since you’re not physically moving. I would never ride this outside.

That‘s one of the rare cases where i would say „No“. Looking at the first pic again, it‘s actually „Fuck No!“

That’s too big a dent. I wouldn’t ride that.
