In this week’s video, we explore Skopje, North Macedonia, for the first time! We try delicious Macedonian food in Europe’s most unusual capital. This is Skopje, North Macedonia!

We start our day at the Old Bazaar. After browsing through the local shops filled with clothing and souvenirs, we decide to stop by Sweets Shop Rigara for some desserts. We grab ourselves a padobranac, trileçe, and a Turkish sweet called oshe bulbul.
To wash our sweets down, we try a Turkish coffee and a Turkish tea from DoyDoy Bufe.
From here, we leave the bazaar and decide to visit a few of Skopje’s main attractions, including the Skopje Fortress, Macedonia Square, and the fake galleon ships located in the Vardar River.
It’s now time to take a break and grab a refreshment. We stop by a place called Cake Shop Apče to try boza, a fermented drink of Turkish origin.
We end the day at a local restaurant called Chardak. We try local beer, mastika, and rakia for our drinks. For food, we ordered stuffed peppers, South Macedonian salad, makalo, zelnik, and tavče gravče.

  1. Macedonians understand and speak Serbian also their similar words. If you listen carefully… I guess some parts of the city. i have friend who is Macedonian, who spoke Serbian.

  2. 2014 – We're going to rebuild! Ships, I want pirate ships….LOL. Locals probably not impressed. Boza sounds interesting. Mastic is used in baking too. Dinner looked all good, accidental vegetarian meal. Hi from Oregon!

  3. We are doing the non Schegan countries in a few months. One of us has a Filipino passport 😞 getting the visa been a pain .But enjoying watching your journey.Your like a gentle Black and Tats couple.Cheers

  4. Skopije is the worst city in North Macedonia. Everything is fake and the history is stolen from all of the neighbours. Most of everything you find there is taken from the neighbours, like all of the food you tried for instance. Everything you find in North Macedonia you can find in Bulgaria, because we are the exact same people.

  5. the north was illegally, against the will of the Macedonians and attached against the constitution. there is suspicion of the greek lobby in usa through usaid to influence that. the referendum for that north didn't pass. President didn't sign the name change and parliament members were threatened and blackmailed to vote in favor of north. i appreciate for saying Macedonia. cheers

  6. You have many interesting videos, I like all of them.
Slavic Macedonia is an artificial state, built on territories taken from Dardania🇽🇰, Albania 🇦🇱, Greece🇬🇷, and Bulgaria🇧🇬. An identity created on the culture and sacrifices of others cannot have a stable foundation.

  7. Fun fact: the majority of the "strange statues and stuff" that you see in the center of Disney Skopje represents Hellenic, Roman, Bulgarian historic and cultural heritage. An exception is the statue of Mother Theresa which is Albanian. Also Skopje is known as the kitsch capital of Europe. Don't listen to their BS stories about their "ancient history", identity and name. Always verify their fairytale stories with Google. They changed the name of their country for a reason. North Macedonia is a beautiful country unfortunately the citizens of North Macedonia are biased with Yugoslav/ Commie propaganda. Don't take my word for it. Google it!

  8. Thanks for promoting our country. U literally hit the best place on earth to try Boza. Next time you're here get one indijanka with thr boza. Its 200 years old delicacy.
