Hopping on your thread for a opposite question, I have retro profile design 22.2(?) aero bars I’m curious if it’s possible to adapt to 31.8 or find flat or drop bars with a 22.2 portion close enough, I bet alt riser bars aren’t structurally strong enough on the narrow part.

Once I needed a shim for a seat post. Soda can cut into a strip and rolled around a seatpost worked. Not sure how safe it would be for these bars.

  3. beer can or part of an old tube are probably upper best bet. you’ll have to decide whether you trust that setup or not

  4. I’ve wrapped bars very tightly in vinyl tape before. This way you don’t have to be perfectly size-on, and the tape will slightly deform when squeezed for the best grip. Once it’s been there through a summer it dries a bit and hardens so won’t go anywhere.

  5. A bit of an old inner tube always works well, can take the compression and doesn’t slip.
