Edit: i bought the whole bike with former bottom bracket installed. The grease was just lying on rhe bottom all hard and lumped up in small little balls
They painted/sealed the inside of the frame?
In the industry, we call them virgin
The ones with the U brakes were ~’89 or so. Years before and after both had standard cantis (or maybe roller brakes for the really older ones) in the rear. If yours is spaced at 126, I’d say it’s older
You should face that bad boy before reinstalling the BB. Framesaver it as well since you can get inside of it.
My 94 Stelvio looks like that
