This is my mountainbike which i got for free,i repaired it and did a lot of work to it but it still has rust on non essential parts because i don't care about looks. Should i really start over or were they hating because my bike is cheap

That’s very impressive and definitely not deserved! You have to start somewhere and the best way to learn is on a shitty bike which you can wreck. That’s how i started!
Care zero what others think and rip your ride. Looks good to me!
Start saving up for a new one and ride it until it breaks. A lot of components aren’t replaceable on these types of bikes so I wouldn’t waste money or stress over trying to fix it up when it does break.
Personally I hate that these types of bikes exist since there are plenty of good old mountain bikes out there collecting dust that are repairable and safe to learn how to ride on.
Like it doesn’t deserve a swath of hate, but it also isn’t really worth putting money into. You’ve already invested $150 euro into a $150$ euro bike when it was brand new. But if it makes you stoked you do you dawg
That fork looks like it’s going to snap next time you go off a curb. It’s not about the bike being cheap more so about it being safe to ride.
You’ll find a few on r/mtb who might give you a bit of a roast, but, generally, we’re chill. Ride what you have and have fun.
Just don’t inflate your tires above 20psi, that really pisses off a few people around here (/s)
that bike is a pile of hot garbage but it’s *your* pile of hot garbage. Thrash it and have fun! I started riding on something similar and rode it till I broke the frame.
